Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved! As a non-profit organisation, RFSL has branches all over Sweden that arrange café nights, conversational groups, movie nights, gatherings, lectures, after work activities, and more - as a member, you often get discounts at different events. If you have new ideas, there are plenty of opportunities to realise them!

If you want to become more actively involved, you can join one of RFSL’s branches working with LGBTQ political issues. You can contribute to our political work, or get involved in one of our RFSL member groups. The groups are diverse and include trans groups, Newcomers, Golden Ladies, Stolta Föräldrar (Proud Parents), study circles, and lots more. If there are no groups where you live, offer to start one. Most RFSL branches have rainbowlicious spaces where different types of gatherings can take place. It’s a good start!

The Congress, courses, and conferences are held at national level and, as an active member of RFSL, you can attend trainings for school administrators, courses in HIV prevention and many more.

If you are under 30, you can be a member of RFSL Ungdom, which hosts member meetings and has fantastic projects like Transformering and Pegasus.  If you are under 27, you automatically become a member of the youth organisation and, between 27-30 years old, you can opt to join. We also have a lot of activities especially for young LGBTQ people, so please check with your local RFSL branch to see what they can offer.
