Yesterday the Swedish Parliament adopted a Government bill on single individuals getting the right to assisted reproduction (insemination and in-vitro fertilization) in Sweden.

This means that single individuals will be given the same rights to assisted reproduction in the Swedish health care system as married couples, registered partners and co-habitants.

An individual that undergoes assisted reproduction in the Swedish health care system will become the child’s only legal parent.
