A thank you from Ulrika Westerlund and Christian Antoni Möllerop

Soon, six years will have passed since we were elected President and Vice President of RFSL.

It has been six years of new acquaintances and a lot of wonderful memories. During these six years RFSL has continued to evolve, our areas of work have been broadened, our membership count has reached an all time high and the number of branches has never been higher. We have had the chance to implement changes that have bettered the situation for LGBTQ individuals, and, we have experienced setbacks. We believe that RFSL stands strong as an organisation with great potential to evolve even more, and to make more of a difference for LGBTQ individuals in Sweden and the world. We are proud to, together with all of you, have been a part of this.

But all things must come to and end, and we have both informed RFSL’s nominating committee that we won’t be candidates for a place on RFSL’s Board of Trustees. It is time for others to step in and drive the organisation forward, with new ideas and new energy. There is a Congress in May where a Board of Trustees will be elected, and, following our decision, also a new political leadership.

We want to thank you for all your support, all the conversations, the laughter, sleepless nights, successes and setbacks! It has been a great honour for us that you have had confidence in us leading RFSL for the past six years.
