Most are easy to cure if they’re caught in time; others cannot be cured but can be treated to relieve the symptoms. Sometimes the diseases have no visible symptoms. That makes it easy to miss going to the doctor, which can cause problems later in life, not to mention that you can infect others without even knowing it. For your own sake and the sake of others, it’s a good idea to get tested now and then.
Those who have a sexually transmitted infection have a greater risk of being infected or infecting others with HIV, which is much more serious.
